What can cookiejacking do to your computer and identity?

Serious concerns about Cookiejacking and the dangers of online ID theft and impersonation.

The real danger from cookiejacking is the insertion of malware onto your computer, and the changing of online profiles (and logins) attached to you that could spread malware and other dangerous internet programs. Cookiejacking makes it possible for a third party to use your login credentials to sites like Facebook and your web hosting company, so sites controlled by you could be reprogrammed to send out viruses. Worse yet, your own computer could be taken over, and a particularly malicious person could not only control your private profile, but also make postings in your name that could be defamatory, or make friends believe you are asking them for money.

Notes and Special Information

Special note: Make sure your friends have not had their identities hijacked through cookiejacking, or you could be spreading more malware that way.
