Open Source Architecture
Fewer Viruses, Faster Operation, Happier User
Sometimes you don't want to have to use an operating system that dominates the world of cheap notebooks and laptops. Linux Notebooks are one way to avoid dealing with platforms that are either too arty and overpriced, or adding extra green to the pocket of the richest software maker in the world. Many name brand sellers like Dell and Acer offer laptops with Linux pre-installed, and use the latest Ubuntu OS version that is made by a community of like-minded developers. Instead of overpaying for word processing and spreadsheet programs, you can get free open source applications that run quickly on Linux architecture that is more virus resistant, yet compatible with major formats. Many of these laptop and notebook computers run lightning fast on Intel and AMD chips that may have been designed for other platforms, but work better without all the background processes that a closed-source OS needs to run.
Notes and Special Information
Special note: Not all linux notebooks are as good as each other. As with any other model, make sure that your operating system and memory fit your needs.
