Computer Batteries and Power Options

Don't end up getting overcharged when you're undercharged

Most people don't know that notebook computer batteries only have a limited number of power cycles, and usually pick the worst times to fail. If your business depends on a fully charged laptop, you should always have a spare battery at the ready for when disaster strikes. Replacement laptop batteries for Sony, Gateway, Dell, HP, and Motorola computers all have their own nuances and proprietary installation issues, and in some cases batteries for notebooks need to be special ordered. Therefore, ordering in advance prevents downtime. If you're using a notebook computer in class, on a train, or on a plane, then you know that power cords are not always in reach. Therefore, getting your spare power or replacement battery ahead of time will ensure that you have ready power when your current battery's power runs out. Always remember to recycle!

Notes and Special Information

Special note: Get the right battery! Counterfeit batteries have a nasty habit of exploding, and laptop batteries carry a surprising amount of power as well as the toxic, corrosive chemicals that spew out of the smoking crater that used to be a battery case. Beware of batteries that are not brand name or are "just as good" or are sold at flea markets.
