Better Search Results through Semantics
Improve Accuracy and Relevancy
Semantic search engine optimization is a developing field of knowledge that is based around traditional SEO best practices. As search engines learn more about relationships between language and words, they will be creating results more in tune with the actual mindset of the searcher.
The first step to semantic SEO involves having content on your site that describes the topic of each category, product, service, or item. This allows search engines to understand the relationship between items and their classification. Standard SEO practices are already part of the equation, but the next step is to ensure that your overall topic is well represented, and the only way to do that is by writing about it in a clear, concise way that lets search engines understand it. The advantage of semantic search engines is that they will do some of the work for you by knowing how your site relates to similar sites that may be using different keywords. For instance, if you sell shoes and someone is searching on "footwear" then the search engine should be able to see the relationship and serve up your site if it is the most relevant, even if you don't say "footwear" anywhere on your site. In this sense, semantic search will be more complex for SEO, because results will be more relationship based than word based, but in the end, relevance is going to be the key for the best results.
